Jersey City,Elizabeth,Paterson,Linden,Irvington, and Union City. Are they really as bad as people say?
I always hear mixed reviews on these areas. Some people say they are horrible, some say they are mixed good and bad, and some say they are not really dangerous at all. Are any of them not as bad as some people make them out to be? Out of them all (JC,Elizabeth,Paterson,Irvington,Linden, and Union City) which is the best?

Dorian if you do a search all of these areas have been discussed at length and can give you lots of feedback.
Make sure you have a drink and snack ready especially for the threads on Newark and JC.
Enjoy

I wouldn't lump all of those places into the same category. Every city has good and bad parts (ok, maybe not Irvington). Linden belongs nowhere on that list.
So here are incidents of violent crime per 1,000 people in select cities for some context
Irvington - 24.6
Wash, DC - 15.7
Philadelphia - 13.8
Boston - 12.2
Jersey City - 12.1
Newark - 9.8
Patterson - 8.2
NYC - 7.3
Elizabeth - 6.1
Union City - 4.9
Maplewood - 3.5
Hoboken - 3.5
Montclair - 3.2
Linden - 2.7

Some people were saying it's bad. That's why I am asking for the truth, I am not from the area and the info I've heard is all over the place.
