Drove thru Memphis last year. We were there just to sleep. I wish we had more time because I would have loved to go to some jazz and blues clubs along Beale Street.

Have fun!

I went to Memphis on a Vacation. It's not all that great. We Tennesseans call it the Armpit of the state. Nashville is much more Modern, has more to see. Its an Amazing city that grew from a cowboy town to the City it is today. Its hard not to see a NJ licence plate here!
I go to this Meat and Three out in the Country, Millers groc, and right across the street is a little gift shop. The owners are from NJ! They love when we stop in there.

memphis is first on my list in TN to visit - hope to get there this year. it's not the safest place, not the worst and you just need to exercise caution, like anywhere.

If you like the delta type blusey music you will love Beale ST. You also have Elvis Presley's house..there is even a reasonably priced Elvis themed hotel...The Heartbreak Hotel..Memphis is no more dangerous than any other city..New Orleans, Philly etc.

If you have a car the Tunica MS casinos are within an hours drive..go & enjoy
