I asked to submit the document for 2080 Frederick Douglass Blvd. Does anyone familiar with the area? Is this a safe area to live in compared to other parts of Harlem?

The area isn't bad and the apartments in this building are very nice. The only thing you may have to worry about is that it's in between two restaurants so it may be a lot of foot traffic but if I were you I'd move forward.

If you don't mind me asking how long ago did you apply ?

That's a lively area in Harlem, it's like their restaurants row, hangout spot. My friend lives on W 112th St close to Central Park N, so we hangout a lot on Frederick Douglass Blvd.

Thanks for the info! I actually haven't submitted the documents yet and am still thinking...

@belssings31 I applied for the unit on 5/8/22. The management shared very brief info about the building so I don't even know how many units are available. I only know it's 1br and they sent me AMI with the price and application&document lists. That's it

From my experience they are extremely slow. I called one of the management companies of the lottery I applied to they told me I could be on the wait list for yearsss.

I lived near 2080 FDB - didn't love the neighborhood as it wasn't friendly for everyday needs (in my case) even though it was walking distance from work. I can say the cleaners across the street were excellent including repairs and such.

update on the previous one (2080 Frederick Douglass). They put me on the waitlist as soon as I submitted the document which was weird. I felt like scammed Anyway, I got another email from CC and asked docs for 414 Hicks St. The rent is $2,500 for a studio which is no thanks to me. I'm wondering if the rent is negotiable or fixed
