That makes sense. In my building we have both indoor & outdoor fireplace but I don't really see it as a real heater except as an aesthetic feature.

Yes I saw it the same way. I have a heater at home that looks like a fireplace and it doesn’t do much. I’m currently in a studio.

Amenities fee at Sky 42nd St is $249/mo not including seasonal fee for outdoor swimming pool ($750/season). It's managed by Life Time: https://www.lifetime.life/life-time-...=life_time-sky

I’ve been dying to check out that gym (new one opens in (DUMBO) on Tuesday I think but given the prices, I’m gonna have to stick to my building’s gym, FWP I know

Life Time will manage the amenities of Brooklyn Tower (9 Dekalb Ave) too so don't expect affordable amenities fee in that apartment building later

BC has a great gym, I was impressed when I saw it the other day!

Life Time is coming for equinox lol they are starting to pop up everywhere in the city. I guess if the building has access to Life time as part of the amenities, it makes sense for it to be that expensive. Membership alone is close to 200 i think

The downside for the apartment buildings that their amenities are managed by Life Time is non-residents can enjoy it too, that makes it less exclusive & crowded i.e. you don't need to live in Sky to enjoy what the building has to offer

Yep, my company recently offered Gympass and I was excited for a moment. I thought, great, if the plan is to still open Equinox at BC, I would go and occasionally schlep to Lifetime when it opens in BK but that quickly changed when I saw that the membership level that included those two and other high end boutique gyms was $249 a month. I got humbled really quickly
