Just heard on the news that the city is going to appeal the ruling, so this isn't over yet.

If you're talking to me, maybe it's because I value my safety. Do you value your safety?

Oh, but it is over yet, because Bloomberg's administration is over. A democrat will win the next election and end the appeal.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see and let things play out.

Again, it's not such a simple answer. Neither you or I are beat cops and can't sit here claiming to know what does or does not seem like a reasonable search at any given time. Does better training need to take place if it's to continue. Perhaps. Should we completely strip away "profiling"? Should we not give officers descriptions of perps' skin tone, ethnicities anymore? I think that is lunacy...
Or the flip side of it is I'd be shouting this tune much louder if it was my child who was wrongly stopped and frisked.

Its a simple answer as 90% of the Blacks and Hispanics stopped had nothing on them. It was unreasonable search, which the constitutional protects against and it was struck down by a judge.

My, the government as a whole things very little of NYC's/Bloomberg's stupid policies. First outlawing soda's was struck down. Now Stop and Frisk.

NYwriter, do you believe that the constitution protects my right to keep and bear arms with no infringements?

Constitutionally people are permitted to bear arms.

So that pesky "...shall not be infringed" in the 2nd doesn't have as much meaning to you as the 4th Amendment does in relation to the SQF issue? I'm just trying to figure out if you are truly a Constitutionalist or just picking and choosing from it.
