Along with Williamsburg in Brooklyn and East village in Manhattan San Francisco and Portland Oregon are cultural hipster meccas. I can never say or think that Williamsburg is the cultural heart of Brooklyn. Brooklyn like much of NYC is divided by class, race ethnicity and economics.

Hipster or not, Williamsburg is one of the more diverse neighborhoods in Brooklyn though. At least I think. No other areas come to mind. Maybe Sunset Park?
