Hello everyone! Congrats to those who have already gotten an apartment and good luck to those still waiting! Just yesterday, we got an email asking to come in for an interview for this building (2 bedroom). Our number is in the 40's (!) but we have no preference category, so this is the first we've heard anything. We are so excited, as we've had a year long excruciating wait for the 529 West 29th St building next door (several interviews, home visit, etc), and we STILL don't know if we're getting it. So this would be a welcome relief! Some questions- we have only self employment income. How do they calculate it? Average of 3 years of tax returns or present projections? Net, not gross, correct? Also what is the % on investment income they calculate? Finally, do gift or family contributions to income count and what kind of proof would you need to show for cash gifts? Thank you so much to anyone who can shed light on these questions. We pray that all waiting on this forum are granted an apartment soon!
InItToWinIt: what is your preference category? Just curious. Cuz I see you post on the 529 building forum, too. I just naturally assumed you were Performer Category, but I know the 500 Building doesn't have a Performer Preference.
I received an email today to schedule an interview. My Log number is in the 200's. I find it odd that they would contact me months after they initially began interviewing other candidates. I am kind of skeptical about scheduling an interview being that there are only 5 apts for my income bracket (which may be already filled). Could they still be conducting interviews just to fill the waitlist? I am almost certain they have filled those 5 spots.
First I wish all of us waiting for an interview to get an apartment because we really need patience. I was wondering if anyone of you who already moved-in if we do have washer/dryer, dishwasher as the 80% units. Also, how many closets do we have? I applied for a studio and wondering if we get 3 closets as the 80%
Thanks so much & good luck to everyone still waiting and Congrats to the winners!
I was interviewed October 6th. It went well. However, I received a letter last week stating that I will be placed on the waitlist. I figured that would happen being that there were only 5 available apartments for my income bracket. No hard feelings here. It was worth a try. Good Luck to everyone !
