We live in crazy land. One guy told me how in the 90's a guy in a Bronx Building kept getting robbed by someone climbing the fire escape, so he mounted razor blades to the bottom of the window. Perp came around like clockwork and sliced his hands open. They charged the apartment renter with assault

Just carry a baseball bat, and say you are going to the batting cage, or a hammer, and say you are doing construction somewhere.

Ugh...

We've gone over this a million times. As someone who ENFORCES these laws, I once again stress that self-defense is not required to be an even application of force. Legal self-defense requires proportionate force, limited in nature, sufficient to overcome assault. If someone swings a bat at you, you are 100% entitled to SHOOT THEM if you are legally in possession of a firearm and can articulate that you had no other option available to overcome the use of force against you.

We agree on a lot of things, but please, please, stop saying that force must be equal.

those sticks are only as strong as the person holding it, and even then you're probably dead before your first follow through

So why did the mayor and police commissioner immediately say the officer was wrong when he shot the emotionally disturbed woman swinging a bat at him? Yeah I know he had a stun gun but if a cop isn't given the benefit of a doubt in that situation you can bet a civilian shooting someone with a bat would be arrested.
