I think most hipsters have decided that mortgages are overrated...at least at this point in their life. They kind of have a point.

Well, owning is not for everyone. We view it as an investment, and don't expect on stay for the full term of the mortgage. Where were may have been paying say $1800 if we rented, in our case we are paying a bit more per month but it all comes back and more afterwards. What stops many people from doing what we're doing is having the money up front, making renting the only choice, at least initially. Sure, we have to get our hand dirty and there's a bunch of paperwork to say the least, but the ROI on real estate is good given our location.

Maybe some Freelance & making sure they are respectful to their parents so that their rent is paid.
