I was trying to get there one last time before it gets cold, who knows what kind of weather it will be on 10/22. I'm confident I will have on a jacket
Forget ur friend, go by yourself. Nothing beats walking around the city by yourself.

Yeah but you know things are more fun when you are with someone else. We were just there on 8/29 and she was the one who said 10/1. So I now have to wait and pray that it is not raining on 10/22

So we know each other a little bit from some other threads. We're not leaving NY either, too many things we enjoy. And like you and your wife, my wife and I are avid photographers.

So nobody looks twice if we're at the Bronx Zoo or Botanical Gardens with a camera but I love street photography and it never fails someone will ask me something like "are you enjoying your stay in NY?" Or "do you have anything like this back where you come from?" I had one guy tell me I should try taking a picture from this one spot because a lot of the other tourists do???

Do you run in to the same thing when street shooting?

we bought a pair of the fuji x100's cameras .

for travel and street photography they are just great and very unobtrusive compared to our big dslr's .

most of the time people don't even realize we are taking pictures . they are excellent too in low light . they have lots of features for street photography my d800 doesn't

When I was in my late teens thru college I hung out daily on 119st and St Nick in a apartment my friend squatted. The building was a crack spot. Today that area and block is gentrified. My friend got his apartment squating but contacted the landlord and began paying rent and became a defacto custodian. Lost contact with him but sure he kept that apartment. Wish I had squatted too.
