It is different. Undocumented immigrants are not legally allowed to hold drivers' licenses in New York, but you and many idiots out there did not understand that.
Duh, that's exactly my point.
You libbies are so intent on labeling everyone who disagrees with you as stupid that you can't comprehend what others are saying.
Yes, but the issue here is using IDNYC data. IDNYC was created to improve governance and the economy (meaning everyone benefits, even NYC Trump supporters). It's amazing how many ignorant and dumb people out there want to undermine something that is good.

American voters REJECTED large scale illegal immigration, period. They aren't even supposed to be here, so ANY data collected on them is FAIR GAME.
As for the damage it causes businesses who underpay employees and who deliberately break the law and hire illegals (and therefore avoid paying payroll taxes) the voting public is more than happy to deal with those changes and issues. In fact they prefer it.

No, your post is not how IDNYC works. The city asked immigrants to provide this data for ITS OWN benefit. It's good for the police (you see, they endorsed it), landlords, banks, libraries. Better for residents to have some form of ID than to not have it. It is immoral to now take this data and use it against people who provided it to help the city run its affairs better.
But if you prefer to argue on LEGAL grounds, then you should know that the law allows city hall to erase this data now, period. No ifs, no buts.

It is not legal according to federal laws, and it never was. And if the federal courts rule against the city, then the city is not allowed to erase this data.
De Blasio didn't think Trump or a Republican would win in 2016. But Trump won, and has a Republican Congress and will be appointing lots of conservative judges.
If you are here illegally you are not supposed to have ID, because you are here illegally.
DeBlasio is trying to delete all traces of his illegal immigration program that gave identification to illegal immigrants before President Trump is inaugurated. At least one politician is trying to stop what is, let's face it, disturbing criminal behavior from an elected official

No, data will be erased before trump takes office. His election is irrelevant.
