And a close look shows how he plans to lay it all on the middle class. While it's disguised as a dozen different ways of socking it to businesses and the wealthy, all that gets passed on to the middle class worker. You really think those fees on banks and taxes on profits aren't getting passed on? And it still all adds up to a fraction of what his program would cost.
Thank you, Leoliu. It's honestly so sad to see misplaced anger against everyone else except the ones who deserve it--the startlingly wealthy 1% (and the top echelons of said 1%) who are quite literally ensuring their families' success over that of every single other American.
It is un-American to be so anti-middle class and so pro-wealthy. What's sad is that they've got the masses hoodwinked.
Excuse me while I cough up my breakfast from laughing so hard. Pot, meet kettle. How many conservatives on this forum say "**** 'em. I got mine!" Honestly, how many? Probably all of them.
What are you talking about? Please find all the so called conservative posters here that say that. No, it's just your projecting your bias onto what you think are conservative posters are saying. This was explained to you in your other rant thread on why this NYC forum was so conservative.

Don't be dishonest. I read your other posts about going on a waiting list for Mitchell Lama housing. And while there's nothing wrong with that, it just belies your claim to have no self interest.

You don't know anything about me to claim I hate anyone. This is the typical Leftist tactic (which you claim you aren't but evidence proves otherwise) is to use personal attacks on people that don't agree with them.
Oh my god, stop the presses. I make a good income but still qualify for middle class housing in NYC. You got me--caught me red handed! I am "a poor."
Get over yourself. Perhaps instead of asking "how might we fix the system in which someone making six figures qualifies for affordable housing?" it's "har har, pointing the finger at you and your special interests!!" while continuing to completely ignore the massive corporate layoffs, the bailout of Wall Street, the rampant and unfettered greed in this country, the billionaires who bend lawmakers to their will, etc.

Just more Leftist nonsense. Again, parroting exactly all the Socialist talking points that have already been explained to you to be untrue.
As for the affordable housing disaster, again, it is another Leftist plan gone awry: let's over regulate the housing market, then when it gets expensive, create a few affordable housing crumbs for everyone to fight over.
The runaway cost of living in this city would go away overnight if the city just made changes to it's hugely draconian regulatory bureaucracy (that artificially limits supply) but that would go against the Leftist mantra of fighting "evil greedy developers" so it won't happen.

They are doing the same thing in California, imposing more and more regulations, restrictions, and taxes on landlords until nobody wants to be a landlord any more. If a city wants to control every aspect of the rental process from screening of tenants to providing amenities to setting rental rates then maybe the city should buy the properties and actually be the landlord.
Any responsible, caring, and visionary “middle class” parents should be wary of how the 0.01% riches are dominating future opportunities/well beings of their children/grandchildren and unite to take actions while it is still possible to reverse the worsening course of these problems. Smart and hard working individuals should be recognized and rewarded appropriately for their contributions to the common good and societal advances, but not to the crazy unlimited scale as it is now. Mr Bernie said it well, billionaires are cancerous and invasive lesions that pose great threats to societal health if left untreated. Somehow, instead of recognizing their threats, the masses tend to adore and idolize them, and dream to become one of them, which is deadly concerning...
Are you insinuating that billionaires somehow deny other people opportunities and/or prevent others from making more money? This is not the case and completely not how a capitalist society works. In a capitalist market, wealth is not a zero sum game. Just because my neighbor has more than me, that doesn't mean he stole from me, or if he loses that wealth I will not be getting richer. That's not how it works at all. Wealth can be created or destroyed.

you have no clue how the few riches are manipulating/dominating the system for their unlimited benefits while gradually depriving the majority of fair opportunities to compete and succeed. Your neighbors might have a few thousands more than you do, but they are a far cry from qualifying as that dangerous elite group who shouldn't be allowed to exist.
