How many of you actually prefer using cash?

For small purchases, I do
A lot of businesses are cash only, as well.
Even some bars are.

On occasion I like cash in case I overspend. I have a loose monthly budget. This month I overspent in some areas and spent less in others to balance things out overall, but if I put myself on a cash only budget, I'm sure I wouldn't spend as much. It's a lot easier to shop on impulse having the card there to just swipe.

I hear you both

To be honest I rarely use cash nowadays. For me it actually helps me spend less but it's more of a convenience issue for me.

This is an instance of "big government" I don't have a problem with.

Businesses should just install those value added card machines like laundromats. You want to pay with cash? Go buy a card and put money on it, then come to register.

Place can make money on advertising (placed on card and or machine screen), so it's a win-win.

Could work, but something tells me people won't want to be running around with potentially dozens of such cards as they go about their business (for those who don't want to use credit/debit cards)
