I have asked that question myself. I really don't get the progressive socialist mind. It's almost like a denial, where they think, "True socialism has failed, but...maybe if we tweak it this way.. or that way... or maybe if we do this...." meanwhile, like Einstein said, ""Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results..." and the rest of conservatives who know socialism doesn't work, have to suffer by the tweaking and the attempts to make things better only to have the whole system fail... one more time!

Colorado is the only example I can personally attest to. I lived there in the 90's when it was a very "live and let live"-type state with very little regulations or oppressive laws except for water rights in regards to land owners. Car insurance was even mandatory at the time.

Now, Colorado is arguably worse than NY and definitely on the path towards becoming California. Why? Because it's being pumped full of Californians, that's why.

My whole adult life has been consumed with leaving NY so as to escape everything about this state's politics. I cannot grasp the concept of moving somewhere only to push the same policies which forced me to leave my former home.

My very hick friend used to say, "it all starts with sidewalks." He's right. If your new neighbor starts asking why there's no sidewalks, get ready...

Speak to the issues. Any talk of "oh this place is too right wing" is off topic and will be deleted, period. When two people are going back and forth doing so, it's theead jacking, which will result in an infraction.

Oh dear...I did not realize he was from NJ. I thought he was from some flyover state due to the content of the post and I read it fast. No, NJ is by no means a "red state" and that state just as tyrannical if not more so than NY.

How we determined the most conservative cities in New Jersey for 2019
We started by making a list of every city in New Jersey over 5,000 people based on the 2013-2017 American Community Survey (The most recent data). That left us with 182 cities and towns.

We then measured the voting record and donation data to determine which places lean the most rightward in their allegiances by:

1)Percentage Of Registered Republicans
2)# Of Contributions To Republicans Per Capita
3)$ Amount Contributed To Republicans Per Capita
Next, we ranked each city from 1 to 182 for each of the criteria where number one was the most conservative.

The winner, Beachwood, is “The Most Conservative City in New Jersey For 2019â€.

10 most conservative places in New Jersey for 2019:

Holy crap really? I've been looking at houses in Beachwood for months. I had no idea. I mean I know that Ocean County in general is NJ's most "conservative" county, but that's awesome to hear.

It really goes to show you that people pick these things up without even having to research.

In all fairness, the same thing occurs with conservatives fleeing. You think every Californian who moves to Bozeman, MT is a liberal? Haha, no way, and in my sampling it is quite the opposite. A lot of Orange County folks there, which might meet the definition of a conservative utopia.

Except for the fact I own property in and spend a lot of time in a country well outside of the 1st world.

Lefties can't rationalize their voting habits are what led to a number of major cities being turned onto their heads, to the point they're escaping en masse.

LA. SF. Portland. Seattle. NY. Chicago. All Dem strongholds.

New Yorkers are more likely highly educated than those Red State folks. The states that are the most Red are Alabama, Mississippi , Arkansas- Kentucky --- etc get it . They may make you smarter! If they are citizens they have every right to vote.

That's not the same thing. You described shoring up the defenses. Much different from being a Trojan Horse.
