Yes. It's pure coincidence that NYC dwellers happen to be leaving in droves at the exact same time that their neighborhoods became overrun with crime, homeless, mentally ill, drug addicts, sex offenders, filth, etc....
Well many of them voted (if they bothered to vote) for the same elected officials that have allowed the neighborhoods to become overrun with crime, homeless, mentally ill, drug addicts, sex offenders, filth etc.

I agree. I was just responding (sarcastically, I admit) to someone who felt this was just another liberal-bashing thread and that there were many other reasons these people might be leaving NYC (not).
There has been no state more adversely affected than Florida, by the NY/NJ exodus. Miami/Dade county is like NYC, Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County is like NJ and Palm Beach county is like Long Island.
All three are now blue. These good folks left the NE for a better life and just couldn't help themselves before they began 'beaching' about everything.
Thank God I don't live in neither of those 3 counties, but they have changed the political status of my home state from solid red to purple. I'm afraid Texas is next, as the influx of Californians is becoming worse than illegal immigration, from south of the border.
People move because they down size, or want a change, or want to be close to family, or for 100 other reasons. This is just another bash liberals thread. Fake and thinly veiled.
I live in Morris County which is also red. NJ did elect Chris Christie for 2 terms. If you do take Essex County (Newark) out of the state its a pretty red.

Have you taken a look at the state legislators?
What conservative policies are they pushing through?. It is not pretty red. Booker and menendez are not pretty red. The nj courts are not pretty red. The AG is not pretty red. There are pockets sure, but it’s pretty blue.
Seems like a lot people in this tread should move to Mississippi. Such paranoia and fear.
Ah yes, fear. Fear, fear, fear, fear, fear, fear. If someone doesn't like your political views, it must be because of fear. How about a bunch of people from Mississippi move to where you live, and try to turn it into Mississippi? How would you like that?
