I'm unfamiliar with the South Bronx, therefore not sure if that area has any good running trails, but if it doesn't, they should definitely factor that into the design of the community. Also, they should add grocery stores, like Whole Foods/Wegmans, a drug store, cafe, and a restaurant or two in that immediate area.

I have a friend who has one of those apartments and you wouldn’t believe how beautiful they are - not to mention the views to the city. Once inside you wouldn’t even think that you’re in the South Bronx. The apartments are no different from the ones in in Long Island City. They are spacious, with high ceilings, and gorgeous views to all of Manhattan, parts of New Jersey and Queens. The apartments are actually very therapeutic.

Aww man where's all them 2012 posts that were harping on South Bronx

Whoever can afford to buy there now is pretty much guaranteed to double their house value in 25 years

It's gonna be like Brooklyn from 1995 to 2015, this time around it will just happen faster

That area is pretty close to Randall's Island connector, which is a great park for running / bicycling

They are already there, go take a walk on Lincoln Avenue and 135th, on Bruckner Boulevard by Alexander Avenue. Slowly but surely happening.

Looks nice, what I'd like to see for the area would be to underground and cap Major Deegan up until the Triborugh Bridge ramp / east of St. Ann's and building mixed-use and street-facing on NYCHA parking lots.

27-Story Residential Building Breaks Ground At 2413 Third Avenue In Mott Haven, The Bronx

RXR Realty recently celebrated the commencement of construction on 2413 Third Avenue, a 27-story residential tower in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture, the development will comprise a mix of residences, parking, and ground-floor commercial area. 2413 Third Avenue arrives as RXR Realty’s first entry into the Bronx market.

“As the South Bronx’s population grows, RXR welcomes the opportunity to meet this demand and provide accessible, smartly designed, and amenitized homes,” said Joanne Minieri, senior executive vice president and COO of development and construction at RXR Realty. “RXR is fully committed to working in partnership with the community to increase local hiring and activate the neighborhood through direct investment.”

Developers make big resi bet on Mott Haven

One of the poorest neighborhoods in New York City is quickly becoming the hub of large-scale residential developments.

The Bronx’s Mott Haven neighborhood is set to develop about 20 residential projects with more than 5,000 combined apartments in the coming years, according to the New York Times. Many of the projects include a 70-to-30 market-rate to affordable ratio, though some are entirely affordable units

It's fine as long as he never walks outside.
