Classical I think we are off topic here..but maybe you can open a diffent thread about legalizing drug use. I still disagree with you about legalizing drugs...and I don't think comparing the effect of drug use as the same as cigarette use is applicable or legitamite. But let's just stick with topic.

Crime is at 40 year lows...why is anyone complaining again? Always focusing on the negative as usual...

I'm not on a "legalize drugs" crusade, and I'm not sure I'm right, but I know we as a society need to think about alternatives to prohibition.

Crime is down from the great crack epidemic, but it is still too high and too prevalent. It's easy to get complacent, but we have a long way to go before we can live in a safe society. The US remains a very high-crime country compared to other parts of the world. I never liked that song - "don't worry - be happy."

I really don't think I can agree with that at all. Plenty of people smoke, and are perfectly happy about it.

While, I think legalizing drugs probably WOULD cut down on a lot of drug crime.. I also don't agree with the idea of drugs being legal at all, so it's a bit of a double-edged sword there.

Bed-Stuy is having its moment...every neighborhood does. But how does it compare to Bed-Stuy circa 1992 or even 1999! That's the question.
