Yes there is and this is one of the Penn Station Access projects for MetroNorth. Hudson Line is to directly service Penn Station via West Side of Manhattan. Don't become too comfortable with this though as you will be waiting one hour for a train at Co Op City, Parkchester or Hunts Point as compared to Melrose, Tremont, Fordham, and the other Bronx Stations that service Grand Central Station.

Actually Service would be every 20 mins peak and every 35 mins off peak , and Tremont and Melrose have only 6 trains a day...3 in the morning and 3 at night...

Triboro RX, what a fun time. I think it'd be nice for hopstop and google to make a ghost line for a while that calculates how much faster it would have been if this thing existed--just to whet some appetites.
