If City-Data were to hold an informal get-together, (1) would you attend, and (2) when and where would you recommend it be held?

Would I attend? Maybe. When and where would I recommend it be held? Summertime on a cruise ship (anyone but Carnival ) would be nice.

So, what do you think?

Yes, I would. I have thought of starting an Orange County (CA) forum get together (though I'd be a little nervous about somebody busting me up...)

THere was a good one in Denver with photos of their happy hour.

We were considering one in Huntsville, but we never got around to it. (I lived in all these places.)

I would recommend at a local park where kids of posters could play and we could light a grill and BBQ.

Although there are several posters I think I would be friends with in person, I would not attend a C-D get together. I fear that my perceptions and reality would clash in a disturbing manner.

Probably not but it really depends on who would actually be there so I would have to know that to make a firm decision.

It probably depends... I have certain images and ideas of some posters and I'm afraid it would be ruined if I actually met them.

These threads come up every so often about having a meet up.

I remember a couple of yrs ago there was talk of getting a big meet up in Vegas. That could have been fun, just to get away for a long weekend or something...

In real life I'm a a pretty quite guy, especially in large groups, takes me a while to open up to people.

I'd shock too many people if I appeared at a CD gathering (for the good).

I'd go. Especially if it was held in Vegas. Because what happens in Vegas, stays on the internet (once I post it to Youtube).

A fictional account of such a gathering could make a great book. If any of you see this and run with it, please mention me in the acknowledgments!

1. Would I attend ? In theory, yes. I get social anxiety, but I'd take my emergency anti-anxiety meds.
2. Where to have it ? As near me as possible (since I cannot travel)-but that's not gonna' happen, alas.
No opinion as to the "when" part of it.
