Hi yall,
I have a bit of scenario I would like yalls input on.My 10 year reunion is coming up this summer.Im debating on whether or not I should go.I was part of a class of hundreds and I think only 12 people or so are signed up to come with quite a few more interested in goin.I wont like the food they are serving at the venue. Its also 50 bucks to come. Most of the people i dont know or dont remember but I still think I would prolly enjoy talking to them but I think it lasts 6 hours. Not very many of friends are going so thats not appealing so idk what I should do.My dad weighed in his opinion and he doesnt think I should miss it and Ive been looking forward to it since I graduated. What do yall think?
Of course you should go! Especially if you have been looking forward to it.
Don't think of it in terms only of people you know. Sometimes people go to reunions and connect with brand new people. Maybe you'll make a new friend. Maybe you'll make a career connection. You never know.
Does it involve traveling or are you still local? If it involves air travel and hotels I wouldn't go unless I was really enthused. Otherwise it is only 50 bucks and it's not about the food. It is about reminiscing. And as someone else said....then you will know if you want to attend the future ones.
If you've been looking forward to it since you graduated, why would this even be a question?
There were about 300 people in my high school graduating class. I've gone to each reunion we've had and will go to another one next year. Each one was different. Probably the largest was the 10 year reunion. Just my observation, more people were still a bit stuck in high school at that reunion compared to the later ones.
Anyone I cared to stay in contact with since high school, I have. Otherwise, in my opinion, it's just a venue for people to brag about how well they've done - or how much better they have done, or look, than others, etc.
Unless you can think of any other great reason to go anyway, why torture yourself?
