Do you think the GA will actually comply? Defiant self destruction is the name
of the game.

No, they'll simply pi$$ more millions and millions of taxpayer dollars down the drain trying to defend yet another bad law in court. So what if the Rainy Day Fund is depleted. They'll take money from anything they deem to be non-essential, such as public education.
Agree. If they cared about the opinion or funding of the Federal Government, they never would have passed this bill in the first place. Law 101...state law can only offer its citizens more rights than federal law, not less.
So... They're actually going to allow our public schools to lose over 800 million dollars in funds over this?

Let's put it this way Tyler, has there been any evidence that the General Assembly leadership finds an educated, informed and engaged electorate beneficial to their agenda?
“A claim by the Obama administration charges that one part of House Bill 2, which requires state employees in public government buildings and students in our universities to use a restroom, locker room and shower facility that match their biological sex, is now in violation of federal law. The Obama administration has not only staked out its position for North Carolina, but for all states, universities and most employers in the U.S.
“The right and expectation of privacy in one of the most private areas of our personal lives is now in jeopardy. We will be reviewing to determine the next steps.”
Ironic, huh? I can't believe McCrory is going all in on this. He's still running the long post, despite a preponderance of polling data showing him "the people" don't support his anachronistic hang-ups.

They must know what they're talking about since they seem to have mastered the art of "gross overreach" themselves.
Or another way of looking at it... the proverbial pot calling the kettle black.
The kind of moronic liberalism demonstrated in this thread is exactly responsible for the rise of Donald Trump. Maybe some of the armchair warriors on both sides need to back off a little.
What's hilarious about this is that all his life Trump has been way more liberal than how he has run and allowed himself to come across in the primary campaign. He even started to back away a bit in his speech the other night. I have a feeling he is going to be quite a bit more centrist in the general election campaign. People who throw such shade at the libbbberallls should be way more afraid of Trump than an ordinance saying people can go into a bathroom.
I love how they are so upset at the Feds overriding them when they overrode the Charlotte city council oringallly. If you're going to pull that stuff, I guess you should take a look at the food chain and the political landscape first. Unless it's all part of your plan.
