Hell, it's only worked in DC for 10 years....

If North Carolina wants to get rid of HB2, it could look to Washington, D.C.,'s bathroom law | The Charlotte Observer
And interestingly enough, Congress was under Republican leadership at the time and didn't repeal DC's law.

Charlotte city council probably should have restricted the ordinance to restrooms in public buildings and facilities first, then eventually moved to private establishments.

You've got a point.

805.2 In gender-specific facilities where nudity in the presence of other people is customary, entities covered by the Act shall make reasonable accommodations to allow an individual access to and the use of the facility that is consistent with that individual's gender identity or expression, regardless of whether the individual has provided identification or other documentation of their gender identity or expression.
DC did it a long time ago and even went so far as to define it:

Quote:
"Gender identity or expression" - a gender-related identity, appearance, expression, or behavior of an individual, regardless of the individual's assigned sex at birth.

"Transgender" - an adjective that refers to any individual whose identity or behavior differs from stereotypical or traditional gender expectations, including transsexual individuals, cross-dressers, androgynous individuals, and others whose appearance or characteristic are perceived to be gender-atypical.
I'll make sure I check out the women's showers next time I'm in town. I had no idea it was legal. Our bigoted governor didn't want me to have that "right" for some reason.

But I digress... Back to the point.

This year, under Governor Pat McCrory, North Carolina Fortune 500 companies rose an average of 21 spots ranked by total revenue.

Here is a nice article in Forbes that praises Pat McCrory and GOP leadership in NC. Forbes Welcome

'Regardless of one’s opinion on HB 2, it cannot overshadow or remotely counteract what North Carolina has done legislatively over the last five years to become one of the most attractive places in the country to do business, invest, live, raise a family, and retire. Since Republicans took control of the state legislature for the first time in over a century in 2010, North Carolina legislators and Gov. Pat McCrory (R), who was elected in 2012, have enacted a collection of policy reforms that is more impressive from a free market and limited government standpoint than what any other state accomplished during that time, with the arguable exception of Wisconsin.'

^^^What kind of metric is that and that website link is useless to substantiate that claim (@vul)?

Keeping on that subject:

The Jefferson Post | Governor McCrory’s attempt to spin North Carolina’s economic performance comes up short

Take unemployment for example. North Carolina’s unemployment rate trailed 35 states and the District of Columbia last month. What’s more, when one takes into account all the people who have simply given up looking for work, the real unemployment rate is in the double digits. While we have added jobs over the last several years, North Carolina’s population has also swelled, leaving us well below the level of employment that was the norm before the recession. To make up the jobs deficit, North Carolina would need roughly 400,000 more jobs that exist today....

But ask yourself “If this slash and burn approach works so well, why have a so many states, including Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, Florida, Washington, Idaho, California, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, Delaware, Arizona, Tennessee, and Hawaii all fared better even though most have not pursued such an aggressively regressive path?” While North Carolina’s job creation performance has been decent, all 15 of these states have actually created jobs at a faster clip than North Carolina since McCrory moved into the Governor’s mansion at the beginning of 2013.

North Carolina Companies Rise on Fortune 500 List

It's a great metric. Not only has McCrory's tenure brought business to the state, but allowed business to flourish.

Thanks, that is good news but how does that compare to past years (1 year sample isn't enough) and what other factors caused the change. Two F500 were lost to mergers, why if such a great place to do business? The details....the details. Seems one company Burlington Labs is the primary contributor. This is spin 102 (advanced course)...need more details sort of like 12 running backs gaining an average of 21 yards while 10 lost yards and two made 100 yards....need more data to understand the shift.

What new business? Like Paypal, etc...elaborate.

In only short 3 years, Pat McCrory has:
  1. Paid off $2.75 billion in federal debt,
  2. Saved taxpayers $280 million per year in penalties,
  3. Significantly reduced both personal and corporate income tax rates, while creating a budget surplus,
  4. Minimized tax waste on film and unemployment subsidies (which helped push the employment rate to its highest level in eight years,
  5. Stood up to federal executive overreach,
  6. Initiated increases to teacher pay to the highest level in the entire Southeast, and
  7. Continued the transformation of North Carolina into one of the top 5 states for business with the FASTEST GROWING GDP in the country, allowing local businesses to rise an average of 21 spots in the Forbes 500 over the last year alone!

What did Bev Perdue do again?

All spin and no wonder he's bombarded the airwaves with anti-Cooper ads. If you keeping repeating those "talking points" enough, maybe it'll resonate with voters.

Bev held ground during the nation's greatest recession and never allowed ridiculous social conservative agenda's drive the economy backwards. The entire nation has made an economic rebound and most neighboring states outperforming NC. Just check your state income tax returns since 2013 versus years past...they're feasting off the low and middle-class to fund yacht and country club funds. And you're helping them do it. I gotta give to the GOP, they're masters at making people feel good about being fleeced. And then leave it to the mindless constituents to parrot that "success".
