I am currently living in Pittsburgh, Pa and once I graduate I was considering moving to North Carolina. I was hoping if I told you some things I want about the area Im looking for if you could tell me where you think would be the best place for me to consider? I want to live close to the beach, but it does not have to be directly on the beach; driving distance will do. I also want to live in a suburban-like area that is somewhere between country and city. I'm going to have a degree in Early Childhood education, so somewhere that has good schools would be great. I would also like the area to have leisure activities such as malls and other things to do. Any suggestions of where would be good?? I took a quiz online that told me that Greenville would be the best place for me to live. any truth to that? or any better suggestions? thank you!!!

Greenville likely would work, and has Eastern Carolina University and Med School.
You also might consider the Wilmington area.

I would say Wilmington.
Very Very close to great beaches, wonderful downtown, good shopping, great nightlife, college town, historical.
Greenville is nice especially with ECU. However once outside the city, its a whole other ball game considering that its in the most economically depressed area of the state.

Wilmington is closer to the beach than Greenville but Greenville is not that far away that if you decided to take in the beach for the weekend that you couldn't do it. If you went to Washington from Greenville and hit the Pamilico Sound area, you could be at the water's edge in about an hour or so from Greenville. The other coastal areas would take a little longer. I know more about the university than the public schools there. Both towns are university towns. Greenville has a wonderful medical facility. Good luck.
