Question Relocating to lumberton--need help!!!

My husband and I will be relocating to Lumberton area by June of next year. Opening up a company there. I need some advice as to the best place to live. I have elementary school children and want to know best place and safest place to live and go to school. And I would prefer ethnicity to be balanced. Haven't read good things about the area but how much can you really trust online? Please help. I am desperate to find the best place and to find good schools for my child and a good church to join (Baptist). Thank you all and God Bless!!!
