I can so relate. Worked in hospitals entirely too long. When we worked weekends, we'd usually have the following Mon/Tues off. Which became Sat/Sun. Then Wed was Monday and Sat/Sun became Thurs/Fri.

Now, when you worked a holiday, or if for some reason you had 2 single days off instead of Mon/Tues....well, nuf said.

Has anyone noticed some leaves are turning colors already? Having some cool weather lately has hastened the process, IMO.

Many areas, especially my Swiftwater, have had a very dry summer. My pond is dry and the neighbor's pond is very low. Dry conditions can start and early 'fall' change. Next week they are calling for rain almost everyday. However, if the leaves have already started to change; it might be too late.

I am looking for somebody that owns a pond and would really like to have some ducks as pets. Preferably in Monroe County - but not necessarily. We will be giving away (FREE) seven Pekins to anybody that fits that description. They are my wife's pets; so she would like to see them go to somebody that likes ducks and would care for them. We have given several away in the past to a woman that lives an hour and a half away from us. She was very kind to take the ducks we gave her - but I would feel guilty asking her to take more.

In the Spring we gave away ten - but then one of our ducks hatched eight. They are now full grown and should last, anybody that wants them as pets, for many years. We have had ducks seven years old in the past.

Just PM me if anybody is interested.
