A amusement park in nepa would certainly seal the death of knobels. or atleast put it on life support. I am not quite sure if jane sterling has permission to sell land or if the land is hers in general. what i gather is it is hers..what i dont understand is why she doesnt just sell the ****ing land to great adventure? Think about a HUGE park in our own back yard. No traveling 45-1 hour to knobels. Rockey glenn is right off the interstate. lets see..We have a mall..a theater..a stadium.. a ski resort all within 10 minutes of eachother. Now thats smart planning and HUGE business.

I do not think that a big amusment park in NEPA would put Knobels on life support, ever. I would like to see a big park near Scranton though. A great Adventure type park would bring people from NY, NJ, New England, and other mid atlantic states to NEPA. That would be extreamly beneficial to Scranton and Wilkes Barre. It may also bring a new wave of people to Knobel's.

W-B/Scranton are an hour to 90 minutes away from the Knoebels area. Hersheypark is about the same distance. Different parks appeal to different people, and there are enough who prefer Knoebels over Hershey that it's not an issue. Both parks have grown and flourished over the years. I'm sure a big NEPA park would not be the death knell of Knoebels either.

Does anyone know what is the hold up with the new roller coaster at Knobels's? It looks really cool but it seems like they don't have a train for it yet.

Knoebels Grove uses individual cars on their new ride, called "Flying Turns." It's similar to a bobsled run, using wheels and wood instead of runners and ice. Trial runs have been occurring and modifications are deemed necessary, because of safety issues. Fourty years ago rides were built and you rode them at your own risk. Today, if someone is inappropriate on a ride and they are injured, they sue and usually win!

Put as many new amusement parks as you can dream into the area and Knoebels will continue to operate. Apart from the obvious, part of the charm is the history in plain sight. Some rides have been in use for over half a century. Nothing high-tech, but old-fashioned fun. Put the new things in with the old and a unique mix is there in that grove of trees. People attend this park from as far away as Baltimore!

It is sad how people sue over things that are their fault. But I do hope that the new coaster is opened soon because it looks like it will be fantastic.

I agree but if someone were to get hurt from a misconstructed or poorly designed ride it'd be a perfect time to sue. Knoebels is the best!

Well if someone was hurt by a problem Knobel's could have fixed or found that is a completly reasonable time to sue. I believe in using our justice system I just don't believe in abusing it.
