I won't go near this H1N1 vaccine. Its been rushed to production, and I believe this "swine flu" scare is overblown. I'm also suspicious of the fact that the government granted legal immunity to the vaccine makers for the H1N1 vaccine. Why did the vaccine makers seek immunity from lawsuits if they believe it is safe?

With the government trying to take over health care, and vaccine companies looking to make a profit, something smells funny to me.

I don't think people should be getting their kids injected full of God-knows-what in some untested vaccine in response to media-fueled hysteria over a flu that si not even as widespread as the regular flu. Somehow I grew up never getting any kind of flu shot, and I'm fine. Sure, maybe once in 5 or 10 years you'd get sick, but you'd puke for a day or so, eat some chicken soup, and then you'd be fine. Look up the ingredients of this vaccine, not something I'd want to inject into my kids.

Overblown? There have been several cases in our immediate area. Pittston school closed down for a day I believe due to several students being diagnosed with it. This is not the dr.'s and hospitals saying "Hmm, you've got symptoms. Must be swine flu!" There are tests for it, and several confirmed cases! My friend who's a nurse at Geisinger Wyoming Valley has *Several* patients currently that have it.

Did anyone at Pittston Area schools get sick beyond any run-of-the-mill flu symptoms?? If not, then why the hysteria? I can remember one year when I was in elementary school when 15+ kids in my class alone were out with the chicken pox at one time. Does this equal a "pandemic?"

I signed up, along with my kids, for a clinic that's run for Sanofi Pasteur employees and their families. My girls have already gotten their flu shot; my son and I will get it at the clinic, along with the Swine flu vaccine.

My husband had to get both flu shots; all employees of Sanofi did. I'm not worried; my husband had NO side effects from either vaccine. My son was very sick last week (103 degree fever, fatigue, runny nose) and was tested for both flu strains; thankfully he had neither. The experience scared me enough; the staff put masks on us and isolated us from the other patients. Doc came in with gloves and mask on - they weren't fooling around at all, so I'm not either.

YES! As I said, several students TESTED POSITIVE for H1N1! See the article in the CV! Several swine flu cases confirmed at Pittston Area - News - Citizens Voice (http://www.citizensvoice.com/news/several_swine_flu_cases_confirmed_at_pittston_area - broken link)
