Hi CD,
Once again i could use your wisdom, folks.
We're currently living in a 2500 4 bed 3.5 bath home in sterling. Ive done lots of upgrades to the home (bought in 2010) including a huge solar system providing 100% of the anual homes energy, a 2.5 car garage with a single door, concrete driveway, finished basement etc etc
Our home is paid off and is worth about 600-650k

Our schools are horrible though. Hence wanting to move.

Originally only looked at sone vienna neighborhoods with good schools. Budget 1.2M
Now im told some Ashburn neighborhoods have excellent schools for elementary, middle, and high schools. Budget if in ashburn, around 950k

Any suggestions/ recommendations for neighborhoods?

Ashburn zoning will shift multiple times even in the next 5 years. If you are deadset in a specific school, I wouldn’t move there.

Vienna is obviously more well-established, but even those have the possibility of shifting.

Can you recommend a neighborhood in Ashburn?

That is not so. We lived within walking distance of Broad Run HS. That didn't stop them from rezoning us to HS further away. They did give our kids the choice to stay since one was a senior, and the other was her sibling.

Correct. Many students within blocks of Briar Woods High School are now zoned to the brand new Independence High School.

I'd recommend Brambleton. Some good schools and within walking distance to the big town center. Only issue is rezoning with the new schools being built in the next few years.

Not necessarily. Ashburn schools are excellent. You likely won't find your kids in a bad one, it just may not be consistent which ones they go to.
