My job of 14 years is ending next week so I've been applying everywhere. I do have a new job to walk into but the pay is less than half of what I'm making now, and I have to work nights. I am not happy about that. Already started working nights on the weekend....hate working nights.

Anyway, I found two jobs on the Prince William County Schools website and applied. For one of them I believe I have to go schedule a typing test and for both I have to have a TB test. I am going to call them later today regarding the TB test...because it says that the TB test results should be submitted with the application and then it says the TB test results should be submitted at the time of fingerprinting. Not sure which one it is.

All of my references have been contacted and my former employers that I had emails for have been contacted as well. Is this all just a normal part of the process or could they actually be interested in me? I'm thinking it's just what they do for everyone but maybe one of you has been through this before?

Unless they are different than the school systems I have worked for and references I have written for others in education, this is standard for all applicants. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.

LOL. Well, I certainly didn't have my hopes up so it's really not an issue. It would have been a pleasant surprise though!

search the threads. HR is inefficient in PWCS. It is someone's job to contact the references, but that is ALL they do......I wouldn't work there, live there, or send my kids to their schools. They like to pretend it's a Stafford World, but in reality it is a Fairfax World.

I think that's standard protocol. I'm applying for a teaching position, and I had several references contact me and they received an e-mail from PWCS.

And I have two relatives who work for PWCS (teachers) and they love it. I attended PWCS in the 70's and did well. I've lived here since the 70's and have many friends whose kids attended/attend PWCS and they have done well. It's no secret you like nothing about Manassas City or PWCS but you certainly appear to be in the minority.
