Okay, here's a semi-techie question, though it's more related to the CD site. Every once in awhile I see my rep points growing in clumps, 2, 3, 4 at a time. I'm curious, so I check my settings to see who/why/what posts got repped. Imagine my surprise when there's one or at the most, 2, new ones. Where do the extra rep points come from? Is it the first one who does it that gets to explain? I might also say that in the beginning, several people picked the same post to rep - not just the same thread, but the identical post in the thread.

I skimmed through the Admin forum, but didn't find an answer - or maybe I just didn't look in the right place. So what's the deal?

When someone reps you, and that person has a LOT of reps, their rep is worth two or three.

It's not like I'm losing money.

Remember, I do this all day,
I certainly don't mind someone else picking up the slack
when I'm off duty.

Check your sound / mouse settings....
Maybe you have it setup to do that.
I've seen a few mice that can do that.

Also, my wife once had similar problem on an old P-3 Gateway.
Whenever she moved the mouse, you could hear it through
the speakers... (But scrolling made no sound.)
Changing the speakers didn't help, but changing the mouse
solved it.

Try a different mouse... Maybe yours is improperly shielded.

I've provided that service for other Okie forum folk...
(Our friend "Tex"for one, who will shoot me for calling him that.)
And if it's not for money... How do you figure that it's advertising?

I just had no plans for Saturday morning and I wanted to do something useful.
