Moving from Texas to Riverside, California! Need to know some nice areas to live In. I will be working at March Air Force Base. I'm trying to find a home to rent in a nice subdivision.

Need Advice

If you're going to be working at March, don't EVEN THINK of living in OC.

Riverside is in Riverside County, not OC. Even Yorba Linda would be a tough commute.

Focus on Riverside itself, maybe even Temecula. I've never even lived in CA and can tell you that an OC-Riverside Co. commute would be killer. Unless, of course, you happen to find a property you like right on the OC-RC line with easy access to the 215 Freeway.

Blessing09, everyone in Orange County just gave you a stinky wry look, some flabbergasted right out of their seats.

That's kinda impossible, since the 215 is 24 miles away from the closest part of the OC/RC line.

You may want to consider Temecula, Murrieta or Canyon Lake. All areas will be very hot in the summer. Steer clear of Moreno Valley/Sunnymead. There are a lot of gangs there.

I understand the gang situation has improved since the 90's but the area still has the same reputation. Maybe it's better than it used to be and I'm sure there are good sections but if there's a possibility to move to a place with a positive history that is what I'd choose.
