It is odd that you all complain about property taxes, yet so many move here to Texas.

Our property tax situation is completely terrible. Sure...the initial cost of the house is less, but hang on while the county appraisal district hammers your home valuation for 7-10% increases every year. Whew!

It could that California has just about every known tax where nearby states do not...

Washington no personal income tax... Oregon no sales tax and so it goes.

Prop 13 only sets the Statewide Rate and max annual increase... Prop 13 does not prevent voters from approving increases...
