I am looking for the best fish market in the newport beach - costa mesa area Somewhere I can pick up good shellfish. any suggestions?

I don't know if it's still the case but it used to be that all the best fish around there went to the restaurants.

Your best bet is probably to find a restaurant that also sells fish, like Los Alamitos Fish Company. The restaurants DO get the best fish.

Also, Berth 55 in Long Beach is awesome as well.

Marukai grocery store on Harbor Blvd (about mile south of 405) has consistently good seafood.
But if you want to go over to Long Beach, yeah, Berth 55 is a fish-lovers day at Disneyland

What about Dory's fleet down by the Newport pier? i heard though you need to get there really early to get anything decent.

There is a place on Main street in Orange, just north of main place mall. I cannto remember the name of it. THe name has the word fish in it. The fish theat they have available varies from day to day, but is it always fresh and delishious. A bit pricy though.


I have not been there in quite a while, it many have closed, not sure.
