I usually hear very positive things from its residents, although I have never been in its gates.

Just to clarify...not all residents of the Village are over 55. Only one member of a man and wife team needs to be 55. The other can be younger.

My wife and I moved to the Village when I was 55; my wife was 46.

There is no age limitation on owning a unit in the village, but even an owner who is under 55 can not inhabit a unit unless the spouse is at least 55.

Check out Shorecliffs Terrace in San Clemente. It's a resident -owned mobile home park on terraced lots with ocean and golf views. Only a mile and a half from the beach and prices are reasonable. My wife and I retired here in 2003 and we love it. Cool ocean breezes in the summer and low heating bills in the winter.
