Kowboys won semifinals and are now in the Class 5A state championship against Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

I just moved to Orlando from L.A. and loving it. Yes there are downsides to a growing city but overall I can say this was a good move (literally). I am lucky to have a great job with good pay, I am very close to the themeparks (yes I'll admit I love theme parks) AND Christmas is only a few weeks away and I am wearing shorts...I love it. The only thing is...Hot cocoa when it's hot outside just doesn't taste as good to me.

Welcome to Central Florida LaBlue! It is unusually warm for this time of year and I can't wait for it to get cooler..it definitely helps to get into the Holiday spirit even for a Florida Cracker like myself. What is your favorite park? Right now mine is Sea World but I go through phases.

Welcome LaBlue!! I'am from Long Island, New York and I will say give it time and you will enjoy it here!! I agree with cmj_jfla, if it was just a bit colder!! As far as best parks, I love Sea World!! I haven't done Disney yet with the kids they think their too old. 18, 16, and 12!! Go figure, I went at 18 and LOVED IT! But, there is plenty to do here, from just a regular day driving and enjoying, for little to no money, to expensive things that will put a smile on your face!! Florida is really a place to roam and enjoy all it has to offer!!

If you get a chance you guess have got to get over there before January 1st to check out the new Polar Express ride. It is the cutest thing in the whole world! It is taking place of the Wild Arctic for the holidays. Season passes were the best purchase I made this whole year!

Moving from LA, I'd think even Orlando is not too shabby.

I thought I had some Beluga whales pictures, but I can't seem to find them right now, but here are a few "friends" at Sea World.

Nothing unusual about 80 degree weather in Orlando during December. I've seen it happen every year for the past 31 years. Highs in the 50s, 60s & 70s aren't unusual either. The low 70s are the average high this time of year.

Snow would be unusual. The freeze of Dec 88 or 89 was unusual. The 16 days straight of all day all night rain in Dec 92 was unusual. 80 degrees? Not so much.
