A POTD in and of itself, I'd say.
Can understand how that's irritating.
I even annoy myself doing something a bit similar.
I carry my house keys in front pocket of pants/shorts, and when I walk along they jingle/clink.
I don't purposely cause them to make noise, but when I'm walking, they do.
It bothers me, because I don't like to make noise, but it's unavoidable.

Lovely roses, Jezer !

My peeve? The growing numbers of people who grimace when you greet them on the street as if you're a loon... The world seems to be in reverse lately.

People who hum and it sounds awful --- it's not even a song.

Even worse,,,,,,,,,,,,, when they can't sing or hum along with a song that's being heard in the background. It's so annoying.

Um...coming at this from 2 sides here...from the random weird noises people make angle:

I used to have a number of friends who had tongue piercings, it was something of a fad in my social circle at the time (I never did.) They would invariably click these enormous barbells through their tongues against their teeth. Either tapping, chomping, or rolling it along their teeth, and forever clickety clickety clack. It was annoying, especially when there were more than three or four people doing it at once. Funny story: A friend had his done and asked my opinion. I politely said, "Oh, that's really cool!" (I was just being nice...honestly I didn't care!) My husband to be, who at the time had only just met me, thought that it was something I greatly admired because of that, and went and had it done to impress me. LOL! Later he took the bar out and the piercing healed shut, as they do. I still laugh...ah, the foolish things guys do to impress gals...

And from another angle:

Same husband now has hearing problems and forever sings the WRONG lyrics to songs and misquotes things. Drives me bonkers.

And this morning I invented a new word (actually someone else has probably invented it, but I've never heard it used so I'm claiming credit!) CAR-aoke. When you sing along badly to songs in your car where no one else can hear! :P

I'll write down the peeve in Chickie's own words, and it is;

People who hum and it sounds awful --- it's not even a song.
Awwww, I love to hum and whistle. It makes me happy. It also makes me happy to hear others hum of whistle.

I bet humming in a slow southern drawl would win first prize for the most aggravating.

I don't hum! Whistle ..yes! My daughter gives me grief for jingling car keys or coins in my pocket. Maybe she could make life less boring and I'd be quiet.
