The gasoline smell on shoes thread reminded me that I am old enough to remember when gasoline actually smelled good.
And I thought it was because my sense of smell had changed so much over the decades. I used to hang my head out of the car window to smell the gasoline fumes when my dad filled the tank. This was in the 1950s. I don't necessarily dislike the smell of gasoline today but it sure doesn't smell like it did 50-60 years ago.
Hey. We're so old that we remember when dropping your cell phone on your toe would have hurt.
O yes... when I first worked at the space center I had a " Mobile Phone" had to call the " Watts" Line to make a call.. phone the size of a standard red brick.. with a brief case size battery with a 6 foot cord.. and shoulder strap
Then had the best pure " Vanilla " for baking...
and Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner door to door... the hassock canister size.. in Coral Pink or Sea Foam Green
I'm so old I remember... Auto's with vinyl seat covers... burn the back of your legs in the summer.. and make one hel of a static discharge in the winter.. especially if you were the kid in the nylon snow suite sliding back and forth on the back seat.. seeing we had no seat belts..
