He had "Mickey Mud Turtle" and his sister Michelle Mud Turtle, I don't believe the creepy rabbit was a regular part of the show!

We also had "Hobo Kelly," kids sent a postcard and every day she would fire up the giant toy machine, cranking the side and all these expensive toys would spill out as the machine exploded and went "haywire," of course each time in the kid's favor.

I remember Hobo Kelly, but not Mr. Wishbone.

Here is a reference to him:

"Mr. Wishbone - he also worked with the Mudturtle puppets and hosted cartoons on weekdays. On Sundays he read the funny pages aloud -- that was must see TV!"

Los Angeles TV Kid Shows

I don't believe his show lasted beyond the 60s, I started watching the Groovy show after school about 1967.

Here is a clip, but someone loaded it with no audio.

It was a dance show hosted from the beach, every kid in school used to watch that show.

I remember being able to look in the yellow pages to find a repairman. Now I have to use the computer and I get repairmen from towns of the same name in TX, PA, WA and OH.

The first time I made whipped cream I made butter instead.

Hmmm? I'd never thought of that. I've made butter but guess I never thought about whipped cream. How do you avoid such a mixup?

... when diaper services were a dime-a-dozen.

Mothers not wanting to launder their own diapers could sign-up for diaper service, and many did.

Whip on medium speed and stop when it gets creamy and thick but still quite soft sort of like medium soft, whipped egg whites. I whipped it in a blender on high the first time. It turned to butter in no time.

I remember when photos of women in swim suits or revealing clothing in provocative poses were called "cheesecake"-----for some unfathomable reason.

I remember those, too. They have gone the way of telephone answering services and Kodak kiosks.

I remember bringing my .22 to school for rifle training/target practice after class. We kept our rifles in the cloak closet.

They sure have, and what a shame.

I did a lot of babysitting growing up (1970's), and while home-laundered diapers were the way of the day, I remember answering the door of one household where I babysat, where diaper service regularly visited. They'd drop by once or twice a week to pick up the dirty diapers and old diaper pail, and drop off a clean diaper pail with a supply of fresh diapers for the week.

As a mom I preferred laundering my own diapers and hanging them to dry, but what a great service to have, especially for those with multiples, new moms, or moms who just don't have the time to worry about diapers.

Boy, have cloth diapers EVER changed from when I was diapering my kids. Haven't seen a baby in rubber pants in ages.

I can really relate to this vid, I've never owned a cell phone and maybe never will!

I know it's not old enough to be of a classic era, but you couldn't have made a vid with this topic before the dot-com era.

Thx
