Scoop up these opportunities when you can if you feel like it.

.My only advice to anyone travelling alone is to walk and talk with conviction like you know where you are going and where you just came from. Head up, shoulders back, confident steps. Criminals, dogs and children can smell fear. I've been told before if you go to NY as a tourist do not walk the streets looking up at all the buildings in awe, it's a total tip off you are a tourist.

I even got mugged at gunpoint by three people once in Atlanta and survived it losing nothing more than $20. If you are ever faced with a situation of being mugged on the street, never hand anything to anyone, throw it as far as you can. They will run after it and I proved my theory right that they don't trust each other and threw my purse down the street and all three of them went running after it - giving me my out. Everything of importance was not in my purse, but on my person for this exact reason.

If I can do it - you can do it!
good for u how I admire ur sense of adventure

Need to vent...
Just had a week of staycation because times are tight, I'm struggling to keep with things and I don't believe in living beyond my means. All of which is ok, but I need to vent because I'm tired of listening to a co-worker brag on scamming the system. They stopped paying bills and used the cash to buy an expensive piece of jewelry, under the table, then declared bankruptcy. Applied for and received emergency assistance locally, yet is spending $800 on a hotel for a long weekend in a well known vacation spot. Sometimes I wonder why I still play by the rules...

Angry TELCO troubles

Another call to the local teleco provider on the phone problems, and again the same thing ~ poor customer service with reps that don’t know what they’re talking about nor did “any” of them for the last four calls yet return a call to me that they fixed the problem.

I know about these issues and why they happen, but I also know that someone needs to look into the issue and find an answer to the trouble report. I’ll be calling them “again” tomorrow and speak with the manager of the department if his service reps are too busy to return the calls and fix the problem then he/she can look into it.

I am thinking of cussing and fussing, but I shall not act upon it; nor will I be angry because that puts at a disadvantage if u need to resolve problems, but if I could be somebody else for a while I would...

Aks, when I worked as a CSR, I always made sure I returned a customer's call, even if it was to let them know that I didn't have an answer yet, but I was working on it. I found it made my life easier because then the customer wasn't calling back to yell at me for not calling him/her back! :P

Sometimes, SQ, it would be nice to trade places with somebody else, wouldn't it? But then, I guess we'd have THEIR problems instead of ours. Sometimes, ours aren't so bad in comparison. Hang in there, lady.

Believe it or not there are those of us who admire people who play by the rules. At some point and time you will be rewarded for it.

Hope things are better for you soon.

Take heart. It'll catch up with them eventually.
