The first thing that started was the hair turning gray.
I've just finally came to terms that I need reading glasses.
Being more timid to do the things I never thought twice about doing.
Taking longer to recover from activities.
Losing elasticity in my skin.
Forgetting how to spell. (thank goodness for the red squigglies!)
...still hangin' on to the last of the 40's...
I'd say.... Just a sec I have to go back and read the question. There was a question, right?
Body collapsation (nifty made up word, huh?)
Mine started on my 60th birthday. Turn 60: Bam!!!! Everything goes to crap.
Blood pressure of a 17 year old at an insurance physical in October. In May I turned 60. In June I checked my blood pressure. 160 over 90 something.
Cholesterol was great until that dreaded age. I am now on medication.
Energy. I'm the guy that would go to the neighbor's party and party (hearty!) until 3:00 am then be up at 8:00 working in the yard half the day. That is just a faint memory now.
I'm having problems with math. I think this one is a result of having shingles in my head last year. I love math and have been a whiz my whole life. You know the interesting properties of the number 9, right? The Beatles did and teased us with it. Well there are times now that I cannot add 43 and 12. The answer just isn't there. I can work part way through the thought process then it just stops. Weird and very frustrating. An hour later I can multiply two 4 digit numbers without trying. Like I said, weird.
Depression. I spent the majority of life not knowing what this was. Mr. Happy-go-lucky. Things change. I don't like depression. It's still very unusual for me, but it does happen. My sympathy to all who suffer this regularly.
I have not lost my strange sense of humor or my biting tongue.
I'll go with the energy thing. I used to be able to work and run like a fiend a few yrs ago I realized that I don't have the get up and go that I used to have and it sure makes me mad. I can't seem to accomplish as much as I used to. Also the memory thing I still have a pretty good memory but sometimes I have to read or look at something more than once to remember what I saw or read. This gettin old thing is for the birds
I've heard it said that your back goes out more than you do.
But with me, my back is fine, but my knee bothers me. Might need some 3-in-1 oil for it.
