KygMan, sorry to hear about the fire your step daughter and her family experienced. Keep this in mind, there maybe a number of material things that cannot be replaced, but no matter what was lost, we are very thankful nobody was hurt.
Just got home from the "fire scene". SIL started to start cleaning things up today but insurance lady said to wait just in case they decide to send an investigator to look at it. I have a big square screen used to sift clumps of dirt out of garden soil. We're going to use that to see what we can find in the ashes. Everything seems to be working out. I'm going to help them find the value of some of the lost items. Slowly but surely! Karla, he said getting replacement coins wouldn't be the same and he might just go without instead of that. Appreciate the comments and prayers.
So sorry to hear such sad news of your family kygman. I am so very glad there was no loss of life. I do hope you can find something in the ashes for memories sake.
To show how he tried to keep a sense of humor about it, he told us after the firetrucks left that he really felt bad. When we asked why, he said all those firefighters were out there and they didn't have any hot dogs or marshmallows for them! lol
A true military man--sense of humor--a Must! Sometimes a necessity to cope with stressful times i.e. his past occupation.
First off, my condolences for his loss. Second, a cheer for covered insurance and only material loss--no limbs or life lost. That's the most precious one of all.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Fire is so devastating. But I am so thankful, no one was hurt.
My sentiments exactly. Praying....
