Plenty of people without degrees make more than 8.40/hr.
If you don't want to go to college, you don't have to. But if you ever want to make any kind of decent money you need to either go to a trade school or stick with one job long enough to promote.

Yes, but darn few of them are able to do that when they don't stick with a job long enough to be eligible for raises! Many places give raises at 3 or 6 months, some even a year. If you're not willing to stick with the company, they're not going to give you a raise. What's the point? Some places give raises based on performance. Again, if you don't seem like the kind of employee that's willing to go the extra mile, there's no point in the company investing anything into you. They'd rather you just left.
Plenty of people work two jobs. You do what you have to do.
Happy "Day After The Turkey" everyone. (That sounds like a Hollywood Reporter headline.)
Thank you. That's why my husband and others work three jobs. They need to make the money, so they do what they have to do. He's doing this so that we can have enough money so he can go to college. When he finishes college he doesn't plan on working more than one job anymore. It's called realistic expectations.

And this attitude is one of the reasons I'm proud to have you as a cyber-daughter. You and your husband get it. Life is hard work. You are both willing to put in the effort necessary to get ahead. You've made a plan and are working hard to follow it. Good job. No, make that great job!
Okay, here's a reason to never take a recycled phone number:
After a new policy at my company was implemented, I became an Blackberry owner. The cell phone company that my company uses recycles phone numbers after a period of six months after the previous owner has it. I picked out a number that matches the last four digits of our landline and the consultant assured me that even if that specific number happened to be a recycled number, it wouldn't cause any problems. A few days later, I started receiving very persistant calls for a man who apparently had the phone number previously... this went on for two days until I called back and told them I'm not that person... and it stopped for three or four months, up until the past week... I've received multiple calls per day for the man. A quick search on the WI Circuit Court website reveals this guy has lots of legal problems and apparently owes millions of dollars. Yikes! Lesson learned...
(Luckily, I contacted the phone company today and "I need not worry" as they'll have it "covered so fast it will make my head spin"... so far so good...)
Landlines and wireless all use/have used recycled phone numbers after 6 months for decades and decades. Sounds like you were unlucky! I hope your new number is better.
I'll ask this just in case you're in a chatty mood today: I'd love to know why you dropped out of college.
I didn't drop out, I am still enrolled.
I didn't go back this past January because of the nanny family, I just didn't have enough time to do go, with working both jobs and the lady would frequently work me when I had to be at BBB and school.
Then after talking to my grandmother she told me that I had just enough for police academy left and I didn't want to spend it and risk not having it later.

I do want to finish college.
Just can't right now, maybe when I have more time/money.
When I got my very first land line phone number I got one that apparently once belonged to someone very popular. I got tons of calls for him for a very long time. I had that number for a long time. It eventually stopped or slowed down at least. I'm pretty sure all phone numbers are recycled. There are only so many.
