I voted for the Anthracite Coal region because of the scenery, the history, and due to the fact that I am from the region.

I said Susquehanna valley since it's home, but a close second is Pittsburgh + metro because it's a very nice area, despite the 30 years of neglect. Though it has a few bits of light starting to shine through in particular with robotics.

I think I just don't feel home if I can't see at least a blue mountain ridge in the distance.

I am suprosed the Susquehanna Valley is in the lead. To me it it just a lot of sprawl and some farms. I would have predicted that either Philadelphia or a mountainous and forrested region would lead.

What parts of the Valley have you been to. The Susquehanna Valley is pretty long you know. It's got some mountainy parts to it South of Selinsgrove and North of Harrisburg.

When I made the poll I was thinking about the southern Susquehanna Valley. It was a mistake on my part. I should have used South Central Penn instead ( I already included a choice for North Central)

Unionville. We drove through there along 322 down from Woodland Pa. That's a great valley heading towards the Bellefonte Pa / State College area. Also coming down from the Black Moshannon park we took a back road that had awesome views of that valley. We saw some hills and farms but the area is mostly forest and mountains.
I picked the Lehigh valley area just on the rolling hills and farmland area and close proximity to decent mountains. Berks, (western)Lehigh, Lancaster, Lebanon, these counties come into their own in the autumn. North east and north central pa have the mountains and scenic vistas, though.

North central PA is not only my favorite part of PA, but also my favorite area in the US. There's something about those green hills and mountains, rivers, and small towns that I really love. I like it even more than the Adirondacks in NY.

Hey Tremontpa, what about southeastern PA? I really don't consider Berks County part of the Philly countryside. This is my favorite part of PA. We don't get as much snow and it is not as cold as the rest of the state (noticeable difference), there's a lot of farm country and we're close to NYC and the shore.

You should have said "northeast Pa" instead of "The Anthracite region" that sounds old and dirty, and barely defines our section of the state anymore since antracite mining is a sliver of what it used to be. I am proud of out mining heritage in NEPA, but we must stop living in the past if we are going to progress.
