Did you actually read the post, or did you just assume that I'm a venomous fundamentalist? No wonder people don't like you.

I voted NO.
This is just ANOTHER way for Democrats to tell Americans how to live their lives. And we thought the Religious Right was bad...the Dems are 10X worse. This is just the Gay version of Affirmative Action.

Isn't this called affirmative action?

BTW, for those of you who lack basic reading comprehension skills, I did not suggest that marriage must have a religious context to it. I stated that church organizations should be free to organize THEIR church the way THEY want.

Oh wow! That really hurts! Do you think I honestly care what people think about me? I know a lot of people on this forum hate me. It's their loss, not mine.

ainulinale chastises me for not thoroughly reading his/her comments, and then you make this statement when I just essentially debunked this is as being exclusively a "gay" issue?

Good. Then you won't mind me calling you a hypocrite regardless of whether or not I have a reason.

Do as you wish. I suppose you likewise wouldn't mind me calling you a trigger-finger.

^ I am a trigger finger, but I do so when confronted with BS and the insinuation that I'm a hypocrite.

This is what prompted me to make the comment that really set you off in a tiff. You more or less advocate that religious groups should be autonomous from government. That I most definitely concur with. The separation of church and state is something I, too, often harp on and on about when our own Bishop Martino from the Diocese of Scranton dabbles in the political arena.

However, my statement about why do Christians give Atheists who wed a "free pass" while telling gays "*********" was NOT directed at YOU---it was directed at Christians in general. In other words if I were a straight man who denounced God as a non-believer I'd be worthy of marrying in a church if I so chose, and yet as a gay Christian I'm NOT afforded that same privilege? Once again it's just a double-standard to me.
