Get a prenup if you own a house. If your spouse files for divorce, you want to make sure you can still live in that house. Because selling the house and having to fork over half of the sales price will make it hard for you to buy another house. I don't want to lose my house just years away from retirement.

Prenups matter mostly when there are substantial assets that pre-exist the union. A bit of financial planning goes a long way -- for example, putting pre-existing assets into a trust.

Lol neither of us came with much, our assets have grown with us together, even when money is tight like now. So no prenup for us.

As noted here, prenups we're invented by greedy wealthy MEN ( and now apparently women) like TRUMP, who trade in for a new model every 5 or 10 years because they either can't keep it in their pants, or can't get it up anymore with the same one. Trump himself was quoted years ago as saying himself " if you need Viagra because you can't get it up, you're with the Wrong woman".

And women fear them because it takes away their ability to clean the rich guy out when it comes to divorce.

That's the bold underlying truth, even if no one else will say it.

If you are so worried about your assets, don't get married. Problem solved.

Also your a fool if you don't sign a prenup. It protects your home and assets before marriage and after that hot little woman is done with you she will turn into the antichrist and try and take all your home, Ira, savings, and don't forget CP and alimony. Alimony must be written into the prenup, so you don't pay it. The judge will give it to her if she makes less even if you both don't ask for it.

In California you will pay lifetime Alimony after only ten years of marriage. For the rest of her life, even if she is screwing your brother. Fact!

If a woman loves me she can use my money during the marriage but she doesn't get to take it with her when she is screwing the pool boy.

So a woman is either conniving...or stupid for NOT being conniving? Guess women just can't win with you...which may be why you don't have a woman and are thus MGTOW

I plan on getting a prenup.I intend on staying with the same woman for the rest of my life. However, I dont know for sure if she will stay faithful to me.I would hopefully get a divorce if she cheated on me.I may run into trouble finding a woman willing to sign a prenup due to religious reasons.

If the man in this scenario is serious about the forever part, why does he need one?

An interesting aside: pre-nups are actually against the Texas constitution. But they are upheld anyway.

Also in Texas, your money that you have before marriage is not touchable by divorce unless you co-mingle it. So, if you run into someone like myself, who would never sign one, no worries. Just don't co-mingle the funds, and you are safe.
