I'm expected to have a data plan due to my work (social media management) and needing to be accessible and able to access all of our channels 24/7. I could go a bit cheaper with less data, but not that much.
There is no reason to not be on a family plan. Several people on the same plan will get the same service per line far cheaper than doing it all individually.

Not necessarily.......a friend of mine was harassed for way over a yr.....by somebody online on different sites & accounts tracing back who said they were from another country.....& filed a complaint to link it to the same person or 2. So...people aren’t as anonymous as maybe they think they are......& you still have to be careful IMO about giving details about your finances or how much money you make....or how much you have in the bank.......or your net worth. I don’t really get why people want to share their net worth on a forum anyways.....what do they get out of it?

And what was your friend doing to attract that sort of attention?

If you manage your behavior in such a way that doesn't elicit too much of any particular feeling or desire in someone else then I don't believe you have much to worry about. If I constantly presented myself as a lusty and attractive 25 year old woman or if I turned every single benign comment into an opportunity for political outrage I bet I could attract (very different) kinds of attention. If I got all cozy and personal messaged people because I felt lonely, or I wanted to gossip or whatever the case may be, that could also add unwanted vulnerability. If I bragged about having amazing toys... expensive jewelry, recreational vehicles, designer clothing and gadgets... that could easily add unwanted vulnerability... but to say, "I've got $500k in 401k, IRA and a taxable at Schwab and my house is worth $250k with the renovated master bathroom"... that doesn't give the same arousing affect, now doesn't it?

People have answered what they get out of keeping a public, but anonymous, log of their financial wellbeing if you really are curious. You can look through here and find the answer. If you are still wondering it's probably because you don't like the answers, but that's a different deal than not understanding...

What people write as their net worth doesn’t mean anything to anybody IMO & I would cringe if my fiancé or anybody I knew did that.......people are not as anonymous as they think they are tho......if they are harassing anyone on many different sites.......

That's like saying it's a woman's fault for being sexually harassed because she was dressed provocatively.

Don't blame the victim.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know victim was a personal friend.

Yes, you're probably right. For that matter, none of the posts here on CD matter and we're all just wasting our time. Probably shouldn't tell your fiance that either...

Now you know that's only because the information was featured through reputable sources and not CityData where apparently all the opportunistic thugs and scum of humanity hang out.

Posts may not matter but people can get information or other people’s opinions about where to move....what to cook....ideas for weddings....hobbies or politics or interests.....but somebody’s net worth or what they make doesn’t matter IMO....it doesn’t help anybody. My fiancé has nothing to do with it tho....laughs....
