That said, no matter the network (or whether one has zero liability protection or not) liability is limited to $50 if reported within two days. Hence the importance of text alerts and practicing suitable care of one's own accounts. Clearly, the woman in OP's story did not i.e. she was a victim of herself.

Social media isn't federal law (and not everyone follows the appropriate steps i.e. taking over sixty days to report it from receipt of statement). This is my point relative to the OP's story. Had it not been for an overdraft notification, when would she have even noticed the error she signed-off on?

Thank you for explaining over & over the difference BUT...some ppl are never going to understand tho. AND Ita it’s not hard to check what you sign or get a text alert ofc...so you can report errors & fraud fast...you help yourself. I’m blond & I get it.

Just like the woman & her coffee....it’s like it’s everybody’s fault but hers??? She signed it! If it was me....I would just be happy I got my money back. AND I’d be a little embarrassed at how I come across to fight or complain about it when I wasn’t watching what I did...JMO.

So many ppl give out their PIN numbers or cards to friends or family members....so ofc that all has to be investigated because that’s how stuff can happen. Don’t give your pin or cards to anyone IMO.

we use our American Airlines CC for almost everything - only use my debit card for either cash at the banks ATM or cash back at a grocery store.

Is it really only $1.00? Tho they still need to make sure they don’t sign for $1000.

Is that feature not available on bank debit cards?

In this particular case, the woman may have received a receipt with the error, but if it was a case of true fraud then she may not have been given a receipt. But she would still receive the alert.

Ofc...it’s a withdrawal from your bank acct AND transfers too. So..you can set it up how you want on the app & set up your own minimums.

Well said! Unfortunately, there are those who don't care how (foolish) they look; they want to blame/bark at someone else. Bottom line (and relevant point being), the woman in OP's story has been made whole - despite her own negligence. It simply would not have happened had she looked at what she was signing-off on.

McDs lowered the price of all their fountain drinks, including iced tea and hot or iced black coffee, any size, to $1.00. You still have to pay $3-4 for the blended coffees (milkshakes).

It was a good business decision because they were losing volume to competitors because of their low food quality, so the get more bodies in the doors & make more money selling cheaper drinks. Their gross price of a fountain drink or black coffee is around 15-20 cents.
