There is no true evil...just actions which are taken through massive misinterpretation.

Selfishness or misinterpretation?

Looking at it from this perspective, although I previously said religion is the root of all evil, I could also say assumption is the root of all evil.

We are reactionary. We react to whatever our senses pick up at the moment and make the next move. The problem is, we make assumptions at almost every turn, and if those assumptions are wrong, it can all go to pot.

Of course it's not the root of all evil. For that to be true, you would have to believe that a person who grew up in a racially homogenous environment would be incapable of evil. How silly.

Racism is a consequence of evil--greed, ignorance, pride--not a primary cause of it.

I think prejudice in general, and prejudice probably come from greed. You know, make up that certain people are inferior so you can have what you want or more of it.

Agreed. Greed for money and greed for power are the root of all injustices mankind commits.

I agree because if it's not racism it's something else. People will always find a reason to judge someone else for being different.

Because of racism, there have been double standards between the way that "inferior" races especially non-whites and whites have been treated. If it is unacceptable for Japan to conduct whaling practices on grounds of the preservation of endangered species, why is Australia not saying anything about the conduct of European whaling nations like Norway and Iceland?

Because of racism, anti-Muslim sentiments (especially after 911 and even today) in the world have pushed more Muslims into the terrorist war and be brainwashed by extremists.

Because of racism, many people in the West have criticized countries like Japan and South Korea for their strong xenophobic sentiments and policies when even their own countries (especially the US) still experience consistent racial profiling and stereotypes to this day.

It would be especially great to know what those, who have good friends of other races or experienced a different culture, think about this.
Nahhhh, I think it's just human nature to distinguish oneself. Even all humans were 1 single race, people would still find something to fight about. Most people would feel worthless and bored if they had no cause.

I know it is vogue to blame Whitey for all the problems in the world, but that is neither historically accurate nor intellectually honest. The fact of the matter is that the African slave trade would never have flourished if the Africans themselves didn't profit off the capture and sale of slaves to the foreign slave traders. The slave trade still exists in Africa and the Middle East today despite Whitey getting out of the game over 150 years ago.
