We also have awesome storms. Not that I want them all the time, but very few places have such jaw-dropping displays of nature. Sometimes they can be pretty damn scary but when you come through unscathed, it's like a new lease on life kind of feeling. One of the most amazing scenes I've witnessed was a thunderstorm tearing across monument valley, lighting up the sky with furious lightning while an amazing sunset played contrast to the dark clouds.

Default Lights in the sky

I don't live in Arizona any longer, but as a native son I'm proud of how popular state is with UFOs.

I'm not going to rant about the positives. I will just tell you about last Friday. I woke up and jogged outside at 6 AM to a beautiful sunrise and perfect weather. I then worked until noon and left. I wasn't the only one leaving at noon; it seems most professionals in Phoenix rarely work a full day on Friday. I played golf that afternoon at one of the best courses in the country. I had drinks with my friends on an outdoor patio with a breathtaking view of the mountains and no mosquitoes or humidity to worry about. We then dined at an exclusive restaurant later that evening and then attended a fine jazz lounge and wine bar aferwards. I then came home and took a dip in my swimming pool.

I've been doing this for nearly every Friday the last 6 weeks except throw in a Suns and D-backs game on occasion.
