There seem to be a lot of bars in the old town Scottsdale area, most seem to cater to the 20-somethings though. Does anyone know of any good bars/clubs in Scottsdale that attracts more 30/40-somethings?

years ago, the Downside Risk was notorious as a pick-up joint for 40-something Scottsdale-types at its old location on Camelback....

The Downside Risk - Home

anybody know if it still is?

AZ88, Old Town Tavern, Citizen R + D (the "secret" lounge upstairs from Citizen Public House that you access from the alley), Kazimierz Wine Bar. Also any place at a hotel (Hotel Valley Ho, The W, The Saguaro).

Some of the more lounge type restaurants that are good to grab a drink at: Searsucker, Citizen Public House, Eddie's House, Culinary Dropout, Olive & Ivy.

I don't really know of any dance clubs in that area that aren't full of younger people.

Oh and pretty much any place at Kierland or Scottsdale Quarter is going to attract an older crowd. I like Tanzy at Scottsdale Quarter.

Barcelona was always good for that.

Has anybody been to Blue Martini at City North?

How about Eli's? Is that still open?

That was my spot back in the day. It has moved now to Shea, but still caters to the 30/40-ish crowd.

Haven't been here yet myself, but I saw that McFate just won the designation of Best New Brewery.
